Hemn Adil Karim is a lecturer at the Department of English, College of Education, University of Garmian. He graduated from the English Language and Literature Department at Koya University in 2007. He received his MA in Applied Linguistics (TEFL) in 2010 at Bilkent University in Turkey, where he studied in a fully funded scholarship program which was a protocol signed by Bilkent University and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in KRG. He has got his PhD in Applied Linguistics Program at the University of Garmian in 2023. He started teaching English as a foreign language in Department of English, College of Education-Qalladze Campus at University of Raparin between 2010 and 2014. After that, he joined the English teaching staff in Department of English, College of Education at University of Garmian from September 2014 to present. He was the Director of Career Development Center of University of Garmian in 2015 and 2016. He received a number of certificates in continuing education, teaching, and professional development areas as follows: - Certificate of Continuing Education and Teaching English Language Development at Virginia Polytechnic and State University – Virginia State – USA, in August – 2014. - Certificate of Teaching and Professional Development awarded by IREX in Washington, DC – USA in August – 2014. - Certificate of Development for Trainers of Trainers in Erbil English Language Workshop Conference, September 2014. - Certificate of Achievement as a Facilitator during the Iraqi Kurdistan Rural University Partnership Program’s Opening Workshop awarded by IREX in Erbil, February 2015 Hemn’s research focuses on Applied Linguistics in general, English Language Teaching, Learning, and Assessment in particular. He has been published seven research papers so far.
