Prof. Dr. Aras Fariq Zainal, President of the University of Garmian, officially received former Iraqi Parliament Member Dr. Burhan Mohammed Faraj at the university presidency. The visit focused on enriching the university's archival assets, with Dr. Faraj donating a valuable collection of historical manuscripts and documents to the Sherwana Center for Documentation and Academic Research to ensure their long-term preservation and accessibility for researchers.
The meeting, which was also attended by the center's director, Mr. Sabah Ali Jaf, emphasized the critical importance of archiving primary sources to safeguard the region's cultural and historical narrative. This donation directly responds to an institutional appeal previously launched by the University Presidency during the center's inauguration, which urged public figures, intellectuals, and civic organizations to contribute historically significant documents to the repository.
