University of Garmian Hosts International Workshop on Education During Global Conflicts

In an effort to enhance pedagogical resilience and address the challenges of education during times of crisis, the University of Garmian hosted an international workshop titled "Teaching and Learning in Times of Conflict: Inclusive Education, Mental Health and STEM Pathways."

The virtual event took place on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, via Google Meet, drawing over 120 participants, including academic faculty, researchers, and educational specialists. The workshop focused on the critical role of academic institutions in navigating crises and building resilient educational communities.

Managed by Dr. Omer Mahmoud, Director of the University’s Pedagogy Center, the sessions were led by three distinguished experts who addressed the following:

Inclusive Education: Strategies to ensure equitable access to learning for all students, regardless of their circumstances.

Psychosocial Support:

Scientific methodologies for managing student mental health and fostering a secure learning environment during instability.

STEM Education: Innovative approaches to teaching Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics in challenging or resource-limited environments.
