Two faculty members from the Department of Chemistry, College of Education, University of Garmian, participated in an international training program on air pollution held in China. The two-week program, entitled Carbon Peak/Neutrality and Carbon Emission Calculation and Prediction for Developing Countries, focused on strategies for addressing global environmental challenges.

The University of Garmian delegation consisted of Assistant Professor Dr. Karzan Mahmoud Ahmad and Assistant Professor Dr. Azad Hama Ali Mohammed. The training was funded by the Ministry of Commerce of China and organized by Suzhou University of Science and Technology.

The program brought together representatives from several countries and universities, including Malaysia, Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, South Africa, and Nigeria. Over a period of fifteen days, participants engaged in lectures, discussions, and applied sessions addressing carbon emissions, sustainability, and environmental management in the context of developing countries.

At the conclusion of the training, all participants were awarded official certificates of participation in recognition of their successful completion of the program.
