On February 26–27, 2025, representatives from the University of Garmian participated in a workshop on the launch and announcement of the RISE project (Reinforcing Integration of Skills for Employability and Internationalization in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq) at Duhok University.

Assistant Lecturer Chnur M. Fatah, Director of the Career Development Center, and Drivan J. Abdullah, director of the Bologna Process Department, attended the two-day workshop, which focused on a project funded by the European Union and coordinated by UNIMED Italy.

The workshop aimed to present the project’s objectives, which include enhancing the employability of graduates from universities in the Kurdistan Region and promoting the internationalization of higher education institutions.

The main partners of the project include seven universities in the Kurdistan Region—University of Garmian, University of Duhok, University of Zakho, Erbil Polytechnic University, Sulaimani Polytechnic University, Duhok Polytechnic University, and Akre University of Applied Sciences—along with two European universities.
