On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, a ceremony was held at the Central Library of the University of Garmian to mark the donation of the personal library of the late Mr. Ismail M. Rashid. The event took place in the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed I. Khalil, Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education, along with the family of the deceased, faculty members, and university staff.

Mr. Ismail’s collection, comprising hundreds of valuable academic and scientific books, was formally donated to the Central Library. In his remarks, Mr. Aso Subhan, Director of the Central Library, expressed gratitude to the family and noted that the University has recently acquired over 3,000 books.

At the close of the ceremony, the Vice President for Scientific Affairs presented a token of appreciation to the family in honor of Mr. Ismail’s contributions. The late Mr. Ismail Mohammed Rashid was a lecturer at Garmian Polytechnic University and the founder of Kalar Technical Institute.
