The Department of Kindergarten, College of Basic Education, University of Garmian, is honored to announce that Professor Tsediso Michael Makoelle will be a keynote speaker at our upcoming international online workshop:
“Shifting the Paradigm: From Placement to True Belonging of Children with Disabilities in Mainstream Classrooms”
Professor Makoelle is a Full Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Fort Hare, South Africa, and an internationally recognized scholar in inclusive education and educational leadership. With over 30 years of academic and professional experience, he has held senior positions across leading institutions globally.
He holds a PhD in Inclusive Education from the University of Manchester (UK) and a Doctor of Education in Educational Management and Leadership from UNISA. His distinguished career includes extensive research, publication, and supervision of postgraduate students, as well as active contributions to international research communities.
Notably, Professor Makoelle has a strong academic connection to the Kurdistan Region, having supervised the doctoral research of Dr. Halmat Faieeq Darwish Mhamood, a faculty member at the University of Garmian, on teachers’ experiences of implementing inclusive education in primary schools. This collaboration reflects a meaningful academic partnership and a shared commitment to advancing inclusive education in the region.
His participation marks a significant milestone for our institution and offers a valuable opportunity for scholarly exchange and global engagement.
