A lecturer of the Department of Law of the University of Garmian participated in the conference (Water Security and Environmental Law in the MENA region), which was held on (February 24-25-26, 2026) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Hiwa Rashid Ali, with a scientific paper entitled (Legal Implications for Sewage Management and its impacts on water resources) participated in the 6th Scientific Conference of the Association of Environmental Law Teachers of Middle Eastern and North African Universities. It was held in Saudi Arabia.

The conference, sponsored and supervised by the United Nations Environment Programme, was attended by 65 environmental law experts, judges, researchers and the public sector from around the world, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, UNESCO, Hamad Bin Khalifa University and Sadr Institute for Legal Publications.
