On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, the University of Garmian inaugurated its 6th International Scientific Conference, titled "The Enduring Heritage of the Garmian Region: Archaeology, Identity, and Historical Value." The two-day event commenced in the presence of Prof. Dr. Aras F. Zainal, President of the University, at the Sherwana Hall in the College of Science.

The conference features 48 researchers presenting 26 scientific papers specialized in the history and archaeology of the Garmian region, representing 13 local and international universities.

In his keynote address, Prof. Dr. Aras F. Zainal emphasized that the gathering of such significant scientific expertise reflects the profound importance of Garmian’s history and civilization. He stated:
“The University of Garmian maintains a clear strategy regarding our national heritage. We have worked to position the university as a bridge between academic research and practical application, prioritizing the development of scientific and logistical cooperation with both local institutions and international teams.”
