The 7th International Scientific Conference, titled "Environmental Risks in the Garmian Region and Their Management," has successfully concluded its proceedings at the University of Garmian.
The two-day event, held on April 7–8, 2026, was organized in collaboration with HAUKARI e.V.. The sessions took place at the university's Sherwana Hall, attended by Prof. Dr. Aras F. Zainal, President of the University of Garmian, alongside university leadership, researchers, and faculty.

This international forum served as a vital platform for addressing regional ecological threats through rigorous academic inquiry:
Broad Representation: The conference hosted 60 researchers from the Kurdistan Region, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Syria.

Recommendations and Strategic Impact
At the conclusion of the summit, Prof. Dr. Azzaddin J. Darwish, Chairman of the Scientific Committee, formally presented the conference’s final recommendations.
The Presidency of the University of Garmian has announced that these recommendations will be officially submitted to the relevant governmental and environmental authorities. The objective is to ensure that these scientific findings are integrated into future policy-making and practical frameworks to mitigate environmental hazards in the region.
