On Monday, October 27, 2025, the University of Garmian hosted a high-level delegation from Qaiwan International University to establish and develop scientific and academic collaboration.

The visiting delegation was led by Professor Dr. Mohd Azrai Qasim, President of Qaiwan International University. They were officially received by Professor Dr. Aras Fariq Zainal, President of the University of Garmian, along with the Vice President for Scientific Affairs and the Director of International Academic Relations.

The visit culminated in the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by both presidents.

Key areas of cooperation will include:

• Holding joint international scientific conferences, especially in medical and scientific fields.

• Organizing student scientific trips and short-term courses at both universities.

• Leveraging Qaiwan International University's connection with UTM Malaysia to help the University of Garmian build relations with other Malaysian universities.

Following the meeting, the delegation toured the medical laboratories at the College of Medicine and the scientific departments at the College of Education on the Bardasur main campus.
