In a step toward enhancing academic cooperation and facilitating joint initiatives, the Department of Law at the University of Garmian has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kurdistan Center for International Law.

The signing ceremony took place on Thursday, July 31, 2025. The MoU was signed by Assistant Lecturer Dilshad Medhat Mohammed, the official representative and decision-maker of the Department of Law, and Mr. Hawre Ahmad, executive director of the KCIL. The agreement was signed under the supervision of the President of the University of Garmian.

The Kurdistan Center for International Law is an independent, non-profit organization committed to the study and interpretation of international law. The center focuses on the protection, promotion, and advancement of the general principles of human rights, international humanitarian law, and international criminal law within the Kurdistan Region.

This partnership aims to promote legal research, academic exchange, and collaborative activities between the two institutions, contributing to the development of legal education and the strengthening of international legal standards in the region.
