On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, the Directorate of Quality Assurance and Program Development at the University of Garmian organized a scientific workshop titled “The Use of E-Cigarettes/Vaping and Its Adverse Effects on Youth Health.”
Dr. Hemn Sadiq Mohammed, a physician from the Garmian General Directorate of Health, and Dr. Massoud Mahmoud Haji Ahmad, a lecturer at the College of Medicine at the University of Garmian, provided a scientific analysis of the health hazards of vaping on the human body and its long-term consequences.
Following their presentations, Dr. Sarhad Mohammed Samin, a lecturer at the University of Garmian and a member of the university’s team for combating drug and psychotropic substance abuse, discussed the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in addressing these issues.
