On February 10, 2026, Mr. Mabast Ali Mohammed represented the University of Garmian at a workshop dedicated to establishing Kurdistan’s first unified national archaeological database.
The project is a collaboration between the General Directorate of Antiquities and the international EAMENA project. It aims to modernize the recording of archaeological sites, providing a vital resource for researchers and a new milestone in preserving national heritage.
The University of Garmian remains committed to archaeological protection, frequently partnering with local and international entities to enrich regional history and raise public awareness of historical preservation.
