On February 4, 2026, the University of Garmian held a graduation ceremony for a specialized journalism course, attended by Vice President Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Khalil and representatives from the German Cooperation.

The five-day program was organized by the university's Career Development Center (CDC) in partnership with Nawzhin newspaper. It provided 20 female students with intensive training in professional reporting, news writing, and interview techniques, conducted by media experts and academics.

During the ceremony, Dr. Khalil emphasized the university's commitment to enhancing student employability through extracurricular vocational training, ensuring graduates are well-equipped for the modern labor market.
