On August 12, 2025, the Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Kurdistan Region, Mr. Adriaan IJsselstein, visited the University of Garmian and was welcomed by the Vice presidents and deans.
The visit was part of the “CoCreate My City” program, featuring a student hackathon aimed at solving regional challenges through entrepreneurship. The competition brought together student teams presenting innovative ideas, with the best project selected by a judging committee.
Speaking at the event, Mr. IJsselstein stressed the importance of entrepreneurship in problem-solving and affirmed ongoing cooperation with the University of Garmian. The initiative is organized by the Dutch Consulate in partnership with Wedo Company and supervised by the University’s Career Development Centre, with winning projects receiving further support from Wedo and the Netherlands.
