On Monday, June 23, 2025, Professor Dr. Arass F. Zainal, President of the University of Garmian, formally received Dr. Ayad Mohammed Ali, lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, along with four of his fourth-year students—Shakel Abdulmalik, Omar Abdullah, Renas Parwez, and Abdullah Mohammed—in recognition of their recent scientific accomplishment.

The group co-authored a research paper titled “Health Governance in Lower-Income Countries and Conflict-Affected Populations”, published in the International Journal of Health Governance, a reputable UK-based journal under Emerald Publishing with an Impact Factor of 1.8.

President Dr. Zainal praised the achievement, stating:

“We are proud of the academic contributions of our students and remain committed to supporting and empowering them in their scholarly pursuits.”

He also expressed sincere appreciation to Dr. Ayad M. Ali for his dedicated supervision, which enabled the students to succeed in publishing their research in an internationally recognized journal.
