On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, the Second Festival of the College of Computer and Information Technology was held at the Khanaqin campus of the University of Garmian. The event took place in the presence of Professor Dr. Arass F. Zainal, President of the University of Garmian, along with the deans of the Colleges of Languages and Humanities, Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and Computer and Information Technology, as well as a large number of faculty members and students.

In his keynote address, President Zainal emphasized the rapid development of technology, stating:

“Technology is advancing at an unprecedented pace. Today, more than ever, the world—and particularly the Kurdistan Region—needs new ideas and innovative solutions.”

He further highlighted the university’s mission:

“This festival shows that our university is on the right path. As an academic institution, we strive not only to impart knowledge but also to nurture innovation, critical thinking, and problem-solving among our students.”

The President expressed hope that the festival would become a platform for creating job opportunities and fostering student-led innovation.

“Some of the projects exhibited here today may become the foundation for future businesses and successful careers,” he said.

After the ceremony, the President toured the student exhibitions, which showcased graduation projects and innovative work in artificial intelligence and information technology.

The festival reflects the University of Garmian’s strong commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement.
