On Monday, February 17, 2025, University of Sulaimani hosted the first scientific conference on cybersecurity, attended by Professor Dr. Arass F. Zainal, president of the University of Garmian.

The event was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir. It was sponsored by IQ Group, Sully Cyber Con, and the Digital Training Academy.

“We aim to establish a robust E-security framework and develop a national E-strategy to safeguard our government, businesses, and citizens from existing threats. This will be achieved by strengthening our infrastructure and enhancing our response capabilities,” Mr.Talabani stated.
