Garmian University, in collaboration with the University of Bologna in Italy, the Archeological Directorate, and the Garmian General Directorate of Tourism, held an international workshop entitled "Management, Protection, and Development of Cultural Heritage" on Sunday, November 17, 2024.
This scientific activity was conducted within the framework of the "Heritage Horizons" project, aimed at introducing the project, presenting its future plan and strategy, and highlighting the importance of archaeological sites and culture in the Garmian region.
During the workshop, Serenella Mancini, Professor at the University of Bologna, Italy, MISAC envoy; Archaeological Directorate of Italy; Elena De-Giuseppe, Professor at the University of California-Irvine, USA; Alessandra Peruzzetto from World Monuments Fund, USA; a professor at Garmian University; the Garmian General Directorate of Tourism; and Garmian Archaeological Directorate, participated by presenting seminars.
The "Heritage Horizons" project is a short-term international joint project between the University of Bologna, Garmian University, the Garmian Directorate of Archeology and Culture, the Garmian Tourism Directorate, and MISAC.
The project has been underway for some time and will continue until May 2025. The aim of the project is to serve the monuments of the Garmian region by organizing, serving, and protecting them and introducing them as destinations in a modern way, as per the project proposal.
