A Graduate of our University Adds Kurdish Language (Sorani Dialect) to Google

\r\nGoogle company adds Kurdish Language (Sorani Dialect) to its translation services. And this is achieved because of the constant efforts and attempts of a graduate from our university.\r\n

Bokan Jaff:

\r\nBokan Ahmed Aziz (Bokan Jaff) was born in 1991 and he is living in Halabja. In 2013-2014 he graduated from university of Garmian, college of education, English language department. As a result of seven-years’ efforts and attempts he has successfully added Kurdish language (Sorani dialect) to google translation services.\r\n\r\nTo the Garmian university website, Bokan stated “I congratulate every Kurdish individual for this”. He also mentioned “the president of university of Garmian (Dr. Farhad Qader) has encouraged me and constantly contacted me to continue my project. He said that he would definitely support me to succeed in adding the Sorani dialect to google translation”. Furthermore, he said “ the US consulate in Erbil facilitated so that I can reach a number of the Google company staff and engineers”.\r\n

University of Garmian Congratulates Bokan Jaff for His Achievement:

\r\nThe presidency of university of Garmian congratulates and thanks Bokan Jaff for this achievement. Stating that, university of Garmian is proud of Bokan for adding Sorani dialect to google translation.\r\n

\r\nThe president of university of Garmian stated:\r\n\r\nAs the president of university, I express my happiness twice. First, because my mother tongue has reached an advanced level to be part of google translation languages. And secondly, because Bokan Jaff is a graduate from English language department in the college of education of our university. Through hard work and serious efforts and support from relevant sides, Bokan has achieved this great success for himself and for us (as the university of Garmian) as well as for Kurdish nation as a whole. So, in addition to expressing my happiness and congratulation for Bokan I would like to tell him “as always, I will encourage you. Because I do believe in your skills and capacities”.\r\n

University of Garmian will Organize an Honorary Ceremony for Bokan Jaff:

\r\nBecause of Bokan’s hard work and success in his project, university of Garmian has decided to organize an honorary ceremony for him in the earliest opportunity.\r\n\r\nSorani dialect of Kurdish language has officially been listed in the google translation languages and has become 133^rd language in the world which is used in translation. That is, it can be used to translate from/to 132 languages in the world.  So far, it has reached most of the users and in a limited time it will reach all the other users according to the geographical location in the Kurdistan Region.\r\n\r\nBokan Jaff is currently the founder of Google Crowdsource in Iraq and Kurdistan Region.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n
