On Monday, December 13, 2025, the Genocide Center at Garmian University held an activity to commemorate the crime of Anfal among students.

To honour the memory of the Anfal victims and keep the history alive for the present generation, the Genocide Center organized a scientific trip for first-year history students from the College of Education to the memorial site of the Anfal victims in the village of Debna and the House of Maryam.

The trip was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Sabah Ali Jaf Chairman of the Activities Committee of the Genocide Center.

The Genocide Center at Garmian University functions as a research-focused center on genocide and Anfal and has conducted numerous meetings and activities in the past.
